Oilers Take Home-Ice Advantage
In a thrilling Game 3 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Vancouver Canucks 4-3 in overtime to tie the series at 3-3. The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading blows throughout the contest.
The Oilers struck first in the opening period, with Connor McDavid scoring his fifth goal of the playoffs. The Canucks answered back in the second period with a power-play goal from Elias Pettersson. The teams traded goals again in the third period, with Leon Draisaitl scoring for the Oilers and Bo Horvat responding for the Canucks.
With the game tied 3-3 heading into overtime, it was McDavid who once again came up clutch for the Oilers. He scored his second goal of the game just 3:12 into the extra period, giving the Oilers the win and home-ice advantage for the remainder of the series.
The Oilers will now host the Canucks in Game 4 on Wednesday night. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. MT.
