Panthers Take Early Lead in Series

The Edmonton Oilers fell 4-1 to the Florida Panthers in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday night at Amerant Bank Arena. The Panthers scored four unanswered goals in the third period to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Nugent-Hopkins Nets Two Power-Play Goals

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins gave the Oilers an early lead with two quick power-play goals in the second period. However, the Panthers responded with goals from Evan Rodrigues (2), Mattias Ekholm, and Aaron Ekblad on an empty net.

Bobrovsky Shines in Net

Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky made 32 saves to earn the shutout. Oilers goaltender Jack Campbell stopped 26 of 30 shots.

Oilers Head Home with Work to Do

The Oilers will return home for Games 3 and 4 of the series, which they will need to win to stay alive. Game 3 is set for Tuesday night at Rogers Place.
