Canucks Fall in Game 6, Oilers Force Game 7
Edmonton Staves Off Elimination with 5-1 Win
The Vancouver Canucks' season is on the brink after a disappointing 5-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers in Game 6 of their Western Conference semifinal series. The Oilers, facing elimination, came out firing and never looked back, scoring three goals in the first period to take control of the game.
The Canucks, who had won the previous two games in Vancouver, struggled to generate offense throughout the night. They managed just 18 shots on goal, while the Oilers peppered Thatcher Demko with 35 shots. Connor McDavid led the way for Edmonton with a goal and two assists, while Leon Draisaitl and Evan Bouchard also scored.
The Canucks will now have to win Game 7 in Edmonton on Sunday night to advance to the Western Conference Finals. It will be a tall task, as the Oilers have won all three games at Rogers Place this series.
