No Excuses For Flick As Injury Hit Barcelona Prepare For Villarreal Trip

'No excuses' for Flick as injury-hit Barcelona prepare for Villarreal trip

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick says there are "no excuses" for his team's poor form as they prepare to face Villarreal on Sunday despite a lengthy injury list.

Flick is without 10 players for the trip to the Estadio de la Ceramica, including key figures such as Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele and Pedri.

However, Flick insists that his team must find a way to win, even with so many players missing.

"We have a big squad and we have to be able to cope with injuries," Flick said in a press conference on Saturday. "There are no excuses. We have to win this game."

Barcelona have won just two of their last five games in all competitions and are currently fifth in La Liga, 11 points behind leaders Real Madrid.

Flick knows that his team needs to start winning consistently if they are to have any chance of catching Real Madrid in the title race.

"We have to improve our form," Flick said. "We have to start winning games and we have to start climbing the table. We have a long way to go, but we believe that we can do it."

Villarreal are in seventh place in La Liga and have won their last three games in all competitions.

Flick knows that Villarreal will be a tough opponent, but he is confident that his team can get the win.

"Villarreal are a good team," Flick said. "They are well-organized and they have some good players. But we are confident that we can win this game. We have to play our best and we have to fight for the three points."
