Eagles reportedly set to hire Fangio as defensive coordinator
Vic Fangio is returning to the Philadelphia Eagles as their defensive coordinator, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Fangio, who was the Eagles' defensive coordinator from 2019-2020, was most recently the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers.
Fangio is one of the most respected defensive minds in the NFL. He has coached some of the league's top defenses, including the 2015 Denver Broncos, who won Super Bowl 50.
The Eagles fired defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon after the team finished 29th in the NFL in total defense in 2022. Fangio is expected to bring a more aggressive style of defense to Philadelphia.
Fangio's hiring is a big win for the Eagles, who are looking to improve their defense in 2023.
